With thoughtful commentary on representation, inspiration, and the evolving role of diaspora writers, New Horizons: East Asia offers a compelling look at the future of literature through an East Asian lens.

About Eric Huang

Eric Huang studied palaeontology at university. Field work didn't live up to his Jurassic Park dreams, though, so he moved back home to LA for a stint as a tour guide at Universal Studios. Several soul-destroying Hollywood gigs later, he finally landed a temp job as secretary to the Creative Director of Disney Publishing Worldwide, inadvertently launching a career in children's books.

Since then, Eric has held editorial and publisher positions on three continents, including at Penguin Australia and Penguin UK, and was a creative consultant for LEGO, DreamWorks, Yoto, and other storytelling companies. It was during the COVID pandemic that Eric became a writer. He launched Saint Podcast, a historical exploration of saints' stories, and he wrote his first chapter book, Guardians of the New Moon: The Great Race, a fantasy series based on east Asian legends and lore. Eric is currently published by Little Tiger Press and Quarto Books. He's a lecturer in the Masters in Publishing course at City St George's, University of London and lives in London with his boyfriend Brian and their cat McNulty.
