Authors Lillie Lainoff (One For All) and Courtney Smyth (The Undetectables) lead a workshop on writing characters with disabilities and the importance behind own voice perspectives. The authors will explain how they have crafted disability rep in their exciting adventure and mystery stories and what responsibilities come with writing disabled characters authentically.

About Courtney Smyth

Courtney Smyth (they/them) is a chronically ill writer of stories, both long and short, from Dublin, currently living in the West of Ireland. They have had a number of short stories published in Paper Lanterns Literary Journal, and appeared in The Last Five Minutes of a Storm anthology from Sans Press. They have been writing about ghosts, demons and murders since they were ten and have no plans to stop. They can be found yelling about books on Twitter and Instagram @cswritesbooks.

About Lillie Lainoff

Lillie Lainoff is the founder of Disabled Kidlit Writers and the winner of the 2019 LA Review Literary Award for Short Fiction. Her non-fiction has been featured in The Washington Post Outlook, amongst other places. She received her MA in Creative Writing Prose Fiction from the University of East Anglia. One for All is her debut novel.
